Tony, un niño de once años, tiene una característica especial: brilla. Sus padres, sobreprotectores, intentan mantenerlo en casa para protegerlo del mundo exterior. Sin embargo, poco antes de Navidad, una niña peculiar llamada Shelly se muda a su edificio y revoluciona su vida. Por primera vez, Tony tiene un verdadero amigo. Le presenta a Shelly su mundo de fantasía dentro de su búnker de almohadas, y ella le muestra su tesoro secreto: una linterna mágica. However, shortly before Christmas, a peculiar girl named Shelly moves into his building and turns his life upside down. For the first time, Tony has a true friend. He introduces Shelly to his fantasy world inside his pillow bunker, and she shows him her secret treasure: a magic lantern. With its light, they create incredible images and worlds that only they can see. Thus begins an exciting quest to discover the origin of the mysterious strands of darkness that are absorbing the sunlight in the building. Tony, Shelly and the Magic Lantern is a film about what it means to be different. It is a story about friendship and imagination, about light and darkness.
